Curaçao SUDS Event
From October 13-19, disabled veterans will be invited to participate in a SUDS (Soldiers Undertaking Disabled Scuba) dive program at Ocean Encounters' Hilton facilities in Curaçao's east point. SUDS is a nonprofit organization founded with the mission of bettering the lives of disabled veterans by providing opportunities to dive. "This initiative will provide our hotel with the opportunity to give back to these heroes and we are honored to be a part of the program," said Maritza Molina, director of sales and marketing at Hilton Curaçao. Participants will be provided with accommodations and boat diving excursions, and other sponsors include Breezes Curaçao, the Curaçao Tourism Board, the USFOL and the US Consulate.

Guy Harvey Wins Award

Renowned artist and marine scientist Guy Harvey was honored with Panama's Vasco Nunez de Balboa Grand Officer Order for his work to preserve and publicize the country's marine resources. Through tagging and tracking various species and creating representative artwork, Harvey earned this esteemed award, Panama's highest given to foreigners. Harvey has also raised over $600,000 for fish research in the Gulf related to the oil spill.
