Tobago's Underwater Carnival

Head to Tobago June 11 to 18 for a weeklong dive festival designed to showcase the country's rich underwater ecosystem and its unique Caribbean charms. The first-ever Underwater Carnival will feature cool events including: an amateur underwater photography competition, with cameras supplied by SeaLife; dive and photography seminars co-hosted by pros including Sport Diver and Scuba Diving's editorial director, Ty Sawyer; gear demonstrations with Scubapro equipment and more. Minke Whale Season
|
|
Next month, the minke whales will arrive in Australia. From late May through August, the Ribbon Reefs north of Cairns become a hot spot for swimming with these beautiful animals when the annual migration hits the Great Barrier Reef. Dwarf minke whales are some of the smallest of the baleen whales, but these beautiful animals still grow up to about 30 feet in length, and are curious enough to come in close to snorkelers.
