Scuba Diving's annual photo contest is back for 2010 and we're looking for entries from you. Enter in one or all four categories including traditional Macro and Wide-Angle, and two new categories for this year: Behavior, and Photo Essay — in which you enter six images that tell a story about a specific dive destination, a specific dive site, or an encounter.
There are some serious prizes up for grabs including $1,000 in cash, a vacation in Grand Cayman, live-aboard adventures and tons of dive gear. And if we choose your photo as a winner in one of the categories, you could have your image featured in the August 2010 issue of Scuba Diving magazine.
Take note, the deadline is April 20, 2010. Go to www.scubadiving.com/2010photocontest for the official rules, more details on the prizes and a link to download your entry form.

In January, we introduced you to a new online feature showcasing America's National Parks. When most people think about our parks they envision snow-covered mountain ranges, open plains and historic buildings. But there is a wealth of dive sites within those national treasures that few people ever discover — many of them right in your backyard. Check out this month's Where in the National Parks Are You? quiz to test your knowledge of the park's offerings. Then book a weekend trip to discover them for yourself.
Clue # 1
This National Park contains seven small inlands, or keys, that were first discovered in 1513 by Ponce de Leon.
Clue # 2
The park encompasses more than 64,000 acres of water, yet only 39 acres of land. And it is known for its abundance of turtles although there is very little fresh water.

Few sports are as equipment-intensive as scuba diving. Your gear ensemble – regulator, tank, BC and dive computer, plus a mask, fins and exposure suit –ensures your survival while making you comfortable at depth. But beyond these important equipment basics you can fill a dive bag full of other interesting gear designed to make your diving easier, increase your safety margin, or simply ramp up your fun quotient when you head underwater. So check out ScubaLab's accessory review here, and round out your kit before the warm weather hits.

|
Art to Media, the creative company that brings you the detailed illustrations of some of the wrecks in Scuba Diving's Advanced Adventure features, have formed a partnership with Mares. They are working to create 3D maps for the new Mares Icon HD computer, the first color screen dive computer on the market. The maps will show an overview of some of your favorite wrecks right on your computer screen, and most will be available for free at www.mares.com. You can even request custom dive maps of your favorite sites at www.arttomedia.com. Check back to both website regularly as they plan on releasing a continuous stream of new maps throughout the year.
