Scuba Diving's annual photo contest is back for 2010 and we're ready to start accepting entires. Diving has taken you to some pretty exotic locales around the globe, as well as interesting spots right outside your back door, and we want to feature the images you've taken. If we choose your image as a winner in one of the categories, you could have your image featured in the August 2010 issue of Scuba Diving magazine.
Enter in one or all four categories including traditional Macro and Wide-Angle, and two new categories for this year: Behavior, and Photo Essay — in which you enter six images that tell a story about a specific dive destination, a specific dive site, or an encounter. Take note, the deadline is April 20, 2010. Go to scubadiving.com/2010photocontest for the official rules and a link to download your entry form.

| The Perfect Match |

BARE's DUO B twin lens design mask features a soft and supple double-flanged silicone skirt that provides a leak-proof seal and also incorporates a patented push-button buckle for lightening-quick strap adjustments. Paired with our low profile, low drag SEMI-DRY snorkel that uses a splash-proof guard that virtually eliminates water intake, the DUO B and SEMI-DRY are a perfect combination.

Holiday Reading
|
|
During the holidays we thought you might like to read a little dive fiction, so we're releasing the fifth story in the Withrow Key series of short stories by Scuba Diving's Lessons for Life author, Eric Douglas, in four parts on our website over the next month. Queen Conch focuses on poachers who are clearing protected conchs from the ocean floor in the Florida Keys, damaging the corals around them in the process. But there seems to be something more sinister going on. Follow the series hero Jackson Pauley and his dive adventure partners, underwater photographer Mike Scott and the beautiful Sarah Monet, as they work to uncover why someone is killing conch without even taking the meat. Is it illegal poaching? A land grab in the Keys? You'll have to read Douglas' Queen Conch quest to find out. Click here to read the first chapter, and check back every Wednesday for the next part of the tale.
Douglas' previous stories, including Cayman Cowboys, Flooding Hollywood and Guardian's Keep are available on his website at, booksbyeric.com.
