There are many animals that live together in the coral reef ecosystem, but none is better known than
the anemonefish (clownfish)–sea anemone partnership. These fish and their host make for excellent photo
opportunities and that is why they are many underwater photographers' favorite subjects. Did you know
that there are nine (9) different species of anemonefish that can be found at Wakatobi?
Learn more about this unique
relationship and the anemonefishes that you can see and photograph at Wakatobi in a special feature article

Knowledgeable Scientists and Divers Endorse Wakatobi

People who dive all over the world say the reefs at Wakatobi are among the world's most diverse and pristine.

“Their web site makes you wonder. The stories you read – with quotes from experts – make you curious.
Having been there takes away all your doubts. This is one of the best dive experiences in the world. The experience
starts before you pass customs in Indonesia. The Wakatobi crew picks you up and guides you through. This pampering
continues the whole experience, until they drop you [back] on Bali. At the Wakatobi Resort they keep up the standard
and make sure all [services] run nice and smooth.
But, the reason why you want to go to visit Wakatobi is not the previously described. It's something else
making the trip to this remote part of Indonesia really worthwhile. It's the diving. Wakatobi happens to enjoy
the world's most beautiful coral reefs in its immediate surrounding. It's like flying through a dream world being
underwater there!
Yes, in conclusion, "Wakatobi is the place to go if diving is your thing!”

The Pelagian Dive Yacht – a Live–Aboard Class on its Own

Pelagian is a Wakatobi–based luxury dive live–aboard that is an excellent choice either on its own or as a
combination with Wakatobi resort. Guests access Pelagian on the same exclusive
air charter that
brings resort guests from Bali. Then, they head off "into the sunset" on an exciting cruise offering a
varied itinerary including a selection of the famous Wakatobi region's spots, remote reefs with pelagic action as
well as recently discovered muck diving sites
that are sure to impress even the most well–travelled divers.
"The entire Pelagian experience far surpassed my expectations. I have done dozens of liveaboards all over
the world and this is the best in terms of service, atmosphere, quality and experience"

Experience Your Dream World and Help us Preserve it for Future Generations
Once you come to face with Wakatobi's vast expanse of pristine reefs you immediately realize that you are seeing something that is very rare and precious these days. The commitment to protect these reefs is at the heart of all our efforts. When the resort started operating it created agreements with the surrounding communities to jointly turn a handful of miles of reef into a "no fishing" sanctuary against regular monthly payments, the provision of electrical power and other supporting measures.
Today, the program comprises all of the 17 communities around the resort with over 20 km (12.5mi) of reef system
included and it is still being extended. Dozens of top dive sites are now fully protected for the enjoyment of
sophisticated divers and to the benefit of the locals!
So if you want to help protect our pristine reef eco–systems, join us in our conservation mission simply by visiting
the resort or by joining a Pelagian cruise. A meaningful part of your payment to us goes to the community, directly
contributing to the protection of your favorite reefs. Learn more about our award–winning
"Collaborative Reef Conservation Program" – here.
"This was my second trip to Wakatobi, it exceeded my expectations again, and you have raised the
level of dive vacations so high I do not believe I will ever dive in a location around the world that can beat
the entire experience."

Enhanced Technical Diving Capabilities – we now offer Nitrox mixes, Oxygen, Helium, Rebreather Tanks and Sofnolime 797
Wakatobi Resort is ready to assist certified technical divers with technical diving equipment and technical
diving assistance. In addition to accommodating divers using rebreather equipment, we have pony/bailout/rebreather
tanks available for rent and we even offer guided cave dives (prior arrangement required). You can also hire a
private dive guide for one day or the duration of your stay. Please ask for and coordinate your special plans
in advance.
Does this sound like a dream vacation for a privileged few? It probably is because space is so limited, and it’s not because of the cost. Consider the total package and compare it to the overall cost a “normal” diving vacation in another part of the world and you will be most pleasantly surprised.
Nowhere else can you get the Wakatobi–kind combination of exclusive access to pristine reefs, high quality service
and facilities in such a delightfully remote place.
Warm greetings from
