Divers will convene for a weeklong event on the volcanic island from June 26-July 2 for the Montserrat Dive Festival. "Our island's dive sites are relatively undiscovered," said Ernestine Cassell, Director of Tourism, "and for that reason, our annual dive festival is a rare and excellent opportunity for divers of all levels to explore the unexplored." Spearheaded by the Green Monkey Dive Shop and supported by the Montserrat Tourist Board and Scuba Montserrat, the event includes a free Reef Check EcoDiver Certification course. Divers have the chance of seeing everything from spiny lobsters and colorful reef fish to playful dolphins and nurse sharks.

The list keeps growing, and 26 new sites have been installed in Cayman's Dive 365 project. Sites like Uncle Lucky's in Little Cayman, Preacher's Barge in Cayman Brac and Elmo's Wall in Grand Cayman's East End are adding up to achieve the goal of having a different moored site for every day of the year.

Delta Air Lines has increased service from Atlanta (ATL) to Saint Lucia (UVF) from seven to 10 flights a week, just in time for July, a month filled with cultural celebrations on the Eastern Caribbean island. "We welcome the additional airlift to the island," said Louis Lewis, Saint Lucia's Director of Tourism. "Delta's Atlanta hub provides connections for passengers to our island from the east and west coast, making the island even more accessible."

Peter Hughes recently resigned as president of Peter Hughes Diving, Inc. and the Dancer Fleet, and has purchased the startup company DivEncounters. "I now cherish the new challenges I face by reverting back to square one, and once again, starting from scratch," said Hughes. Hughes will oversee the premium live-aboard M/V Galapagos Sky, and hopes to raise the bar on operations and service.
