World's First Deep Sea Webcam Live Starting August 14
|
On August 14, the Ocean Research and Conservation Association, or ORCA, will launch the world's first deep sea webcam 3,000 feet deep in Monterey Canyon, California. The cam will document the lives of bioluminescent animals as well as the how a "dead fall" food source, such as a whale carcass, impacts the environment. Relying on a far red light unseen by animals, this will be the first medium that doesn't disrupt the natural behaviors.
