Cruising World Wins Big at Boating Writing Awards
Cruising World took home 19 awards at the recent Boating Writers International writing contest. Overall, Bonnier brands dominated the contest with 33 honors, placing in 15 of the 17 contest categories, including seven first-place awards.
The yearly writing competition recognizes the top marine journalists in the United States and beyond for their “excellence in creating compelling stories about the boating lifestyle through entertaining, educational and inspiring journalism.” The 19th annual BWI contest attracted 113 participants, with 301 entries.
Cruising World swept the “Boating Lifestyles” category with first-, second- and third-place wins. Yachting followed with seven awards and Sailing World with three wins. Motor Boating, Salt Water Sportsman, Sport Fishing and Boating were also among the award winners at this year’s contest.
“It’s an honor to be recognized by our peers for some of the best writing in our industry,” said Cruising World Editor Mark Pillsbury. “Over the years Cruising World has been very fortunate to attract talented contributors who are also sailors out exploring our planet’s oceans.”
