Bonnier Names Eddy Patricelli Editor-in-Chief of Caribbean Travel + Life
Bonnier Corp. has appointed Eddy Patricelli as the new editor-in-chief of Caribbean Travel + Life. Patricelli has been editor-in-chief of Bonnier sister title Islands for the past four years, and brings more than 15 years of experience in the travel business. He will also remain top editor at Islands.
“Eddy is a strong, experienced editor who clearly understands the unique position that each of these brands represents,” said Ernie Renzulli, VP, group publisher of Bonnier’s Travel Group. “I’m confident that under his direction each will continue to have a distinctive, relevant voice for both our readers and business partners.”
By overseeing both Caribbean Travel + Life and Islands, Patricelli hopes to streamline edit and sales efforts and allow the two brands to work together. “The synergies between Islands and Caribbean Travel + Life are numerous,” said Patricelli. “It’s high time we seized them and positioned these brands and their teams to do so. To be in a position to help make it happen is extremely motivating.”
As editor-in-chief of Caribbean Travel + Life, Patricelli aims to grow the magazine’s audience across all platforms, enhance production and focus heavily on digital platforms. “We’re going to shed the ship-date shackles and push our attention to digital platforms to maximize our content’s reach,” said Patricelli.
With Patricelli as top editor, Islands has experienced great success on the print and digital sides, making not only the magazine but also its website the first destination for affluent, active travelers. Islands has also expanded its reach to the iPad and iPhone with its digital editions — which go beyond just magazine replicas to include photo books and resort guides — and Islands Pictures app.
Prior to Islands, Patricelli served as editor of Bonnier’s WindSurfing for seven years.
