Matt Hickman has been named to the newly created position of director of digital sales for the Winter Park brands that make up the Active Interest Network. He is well-known within the company as a digital pioneer, one of the first to make the transition from the print side to the company’s new focus in the digital world.

Period Three of the GROW Program Is Here: Meet Our Visitors
As Bonnier’s GROW Program sends off its last group of participants for the year, Bonnier Corp. welcomes three new visitors to our offices. Alex Pedersen, Nordic product manager for Multimedia and Spin-off in Copenhagen, joins our Winter Park office as marketing project manager. Also in Winter Park, Jussi Hakanen, who is in charge of PR and publicity for CANAL+ in Helsinki, joins as digital content specialist. And in our Carlsbad office, Tina Cliffoord, production manager for Bonnier Tidskrifter AB in Stockholm, joins as associate production manager.

Caribbean Travel + Life debuted a prominent redesign. The new look, designed by Creative Director Mike Bessire, includes a spruced-up logo and modern typefaces and colors. By also introducing savvy new section names and invigorating print and Web content, the magazine hopes to capture more readers.

Working Mother’s Jennifer Owens Reacts to Judge’s Ruling Against Working Moms
Jennifer Owens, Working Mother’s editorial director, appeared on ABC’s World News to jump right into a hot debate brought on by a recent ruling by federal Judge Loretta Preska of New York. The ruling, which states that “the law does not mandate ‘work-life balance,’” asserts that making a decision that puts family before work comes with consequences. Owens says this is a step backward because the most productive employees are those who feel engaged both at work and at home.
