Both the tablet and the enhanced website follow on the heels of a major redesign of the print edition of the category-leading home entertainment magazine, which unveiled a new look and expanded editorial focus with its June/July/August issue. The spirit of the redesign — as well as the new tagline “Quality Entertainment. Everywhere” — will carry through in the digital edition and online, with content designed to help readers maximize and enjoy their entertainment passions both at home and on the go. The tablet edition of Sound+Vision is highly interactive, incorporating multimedia elements exclusive to each edition. “Sound+Vision comes to life on the iPad, and with one swipe, you’re live on set to see and hear the Foo Fighters get blown away by great sound, or you’re on location in the desert in Southern California to witness today’s coolest headphones in action,” said Editor-In-Chief Mike Mettler. “Each issue on the iPad will have a great soundtrack, and if readers like what they hear, they can link to a purchasing option. Giving readers firsthand knowledge of the quality audio and video experience is what it’s ultimately all about.” In February, when Apple first began offering a digital subscription option, Bonnier introduced subscriptions for Popular Science — Popular Photography followed in April. Sound+Vision debuts on the iPad with an annual subscription price of $11.99 per year for eight issues. “We are extremely excited about the trifecta of our redesigned (June/July/August) Sound+Vision print issue, launch of Sound+Vision on the iPad and the redesigned soundandvisionmag.com,” said Bonnier's Technology Group VP and Group Publisher Gregg Hano. “The entertainment focus of Sound+Vision makes it an incredibly fun and well-suited title for the the digital space — both for our readers and for our advertising partners — and we’re thrilled to continue our momentum in this area.” Soundandvisionmag.com now includes a fresh home page that is friendly, functional and easy to navigate, with daily blogs from Sound+Vision's technical experts and columnists. The site also includes access to a wealth of original features, exclusive product tests, artist interviews, entertainment reviews, and extensive coverage of the latest gear and what's new in cool technology. |
