Bonnier Again Tops in Ad Page Growth Among Six Major Publishers for First Half 2011
Bonnier’s hot streak of advertising growth has stretched through the first half of 2011. After having the biggest jump in ad pages among the six major publisher in the first quarter, Bonnier topped the charts again at the halfway point of 2011, according to data from MagazineRadar reported by trade publication Folio.
Bonnier saw a 12 percent spike in ad page totals, with January – June 2011’s 6,624 ad pages a 702-page gain from January – June 2010’s 5,922 pages. Coming in second was Hachette’s six titles (now part of Hearst’s portfolio), which had a 5 percent increase.
The numbers once again reinforce the message that Bonnier, after only four years in existence, has jumped into the top tier of the publishing industry.
Other results showed Meredith, which was down 10 percent after the first quarter, fell even further to 12 percent, while Hearst was down 4 percent.
