In Memoriam: Scott Miller

Scott MillerScott Miller, a database administrator here at Bonnier for the past three years, died unexpectedly this week at his home. He was 37.

His death was a shock to all of us who knew Scott. It is impossible to adequately express our sympathy to his friends who worked with him closely here at the office.

Just “a really good guy” is how many described Scott. Those who had a chance to get to know Scott well, and there were many, came to value his friendship, selflessness and helpfulness.

At work, his helpfulness to others was seen by all who interacted with him. Despite a heavy workload involving several departments on a wide variety of challenges, Scott was “always there.” Co-workers recalled his work with the accounting and finance departments during several software conversions and order-entry system re-writes, and to a person they said Scott “never once” ignored an email or a request, and was “absolutely right there for you.”

Scott was originally from Satellite Beach, Florida, and graduated from the University of Central Florida.

After graduating, he spent nine years as a support engineer at Oracle Corp. before joining Bonnier Corp.

Scott is survived by his parents and one brother. Services are pending.
