Bonnier Editor Takes Off on Journey Across America on the Power of One Light Bulb

Pierce HooverBonnier’s Pierce Hoover is proving how far a parent can go to persuade a child to stop leaving lights on around the house — 4,000 miles. Hoover, who works in our Winter Park office, and his son, Nash, have embarked on a cross-country adventure in a custom human-electric hybrid vehicle that will take them from Virginia to Oregon on the energy of a single light bulb each day. Father and son kicked off the trip last week in New York, talking to a New York TV station.

Publishers Speak Out About Ad-Page Jumps for Bonnier TitlesAdvertising pages for the first half of 2011 increased in 12 of our titles, nine of which experienced double-digit gains. Field & Stream increased more than 20 percent. Not far behind were Outdoor Life and Popular Science, with gains in the 19 percent range, and Salt Water Sportsman and Sport Fishing, also with increases in the teens.

His primary responsibility is the licensing of the company’s products, editorial, video, mobile and television, and developing new revenue streams.
