Saveur National Magazine Award Finalist
Saveur has been nominated for a coveted National Magazine Award, its 19th nomination for these awards since 1996. The American Society of Magazine Editors (ASME) today announced the 2011 finalists for what is considered the magazine industry’s highest honor. The Bonnier title was named in the General Excellence category for Food, Travel and Design Magazines.
Saveur won its fourth National Magazine Award just two years ago in the Single Topic Issue category. In 2000, it won a General Excellence award in its circulation category. This is the eighth time the magazine has been nominated for General Excellence, which is the premier award. In the past it has also been nominated in the categories of Design, Photography and Special Interest.
“Our nomination in the General Excellence category is especially gratifying. The collaborated effort of our dedicated staff is truly amazing, and to be recognized by our peers in this category is an affirmation of the great work we do as a team,” said James Oseland, Editor-in-Chief of Saveur. Oseland is also a featured judge on Bravo’s hit TV series Top Chef Masters which returns for its third season tomorrow, April 6.
Finalists are chosen by a screening panel of editorial colleagues. Winners will be announced in New York on May 9.
This is just the latest honor for the Saveur editorial team. The magazine recently was nominated for five James Beard awards, and received six nominations from the International Association of Culinary Professionals, for food journalism.
