Scott Alexander is the new editor-in-chief of American Photo. Alexander takes the helm of the bimonthly title following a seven-year stint as senior editor covering technology at Playboy. Prior to Playboy, Alexander built his magazine career at Scholastic, Ziff Davis, CNET and Popular Science.

NOOD Regatta Sails Into 24th Season
Sailing World’s national sailing series has embarked on its 24th season. The NOOD (National Offshore One Design) opener was held in St. Petersburg, Florida, in February with nearly 100 boats and 1,000 sailors. ABC, CBS and Fox all covered the event on their local affiliates. Here’s a clip of a live shot from the event on CBS.

Field & Stream is nominated for the National Magazine Award for Digital Media. The magazine’s website is a finalist in the top award category, General Excellence (Service & Lifestyle). Field & Stream has been nominated for more than a dozen National Magazine Awards for print, and won the 2009 National Magazine Award in General Excellence. Winners will be announced on March 16.
- Bonnier titles won five first-place awards at the Boating Writers International writing contest. Cruising World led the winners with three. Boating picked up two, while Yachting took home a gold.

Sara Schiano Finalist for Top Bonnier Award

Bonnier Corp.’s Sara Schiano is the sole U.S. finalist in the annual Bonnier Sales Award competition. Sara, an integrated account manager for our technology titles in our New York office, has been nominated in the Sales Representative of the Year category. She is in elite company, one of only 12 finalists chosen in three categories from hundreds of nominations across Bonnier companies throughout the world. Sara will be in Stockholm on March 18 for the award ceremony. All of Bonnier Corp. wishes her the best and hopes she brings home a win.
