Field & Stream and Saveur Finalists for ASME’s 2010 Best Cover Contest
Field & Stream American Society of Magazine Editors and Amazon.com have announced the finalists in ASME’s fifth annual Best Cover Contest — and the news is good for Bonnier. Two of our titles ranked among the 12 categories selected: Field & Stream’s June 2009 “Cheap Thrills” cover is a finalist in the Sports & Fitness category, and Saveur’s August/September 2009 “The Burger Bible” cover is a finalist in the Most Delicious category.

Saveur Now that the results are in, it’s time to vote. Beginning Sept. 1, consumers will have 30 days to vote for their favorite covers in the 12 categories, and then choose the Cover of the Year from those 12 winners. For the second year in a row, it’s all happening on Amazon.com.

Running Mates: World Sports & Marketing and Parenting Partner to Produce 5K Event Two very diverse Bonnier Corp. properties — World Sports & Marketing and Parenting magazine — have recently captured synergy within the company to produce Parenting’s Fit Generation 5K Run/Walk and Family Festival. The Festival will bring to life Parenting’s Fit Generation editorial platform, dedicated to arming families with the tools and knowledge they need to live a healthy, active lifestyle. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a 5K run, stroller roll, kids’ fun run, diaper dash and more throughout the day. The inaugural event will take place at Bonnier headquarters in Winter Park, Florida, on Saturday, Sept. 18, from 8 a.m. to noon.

Marlin U Covered in Playboy Looking to pick up the latest issue of Playboy for a legitimate business reason? You’ve finally got one in the September issue — Bonnier’s own Marlin University is covered in a four-page feature article. TransWorld to Produce First TV Series — TransWorld Sessions
TransWorld to Produce First TV Series — TransWorld Sessions TransWorld is partnering with Apparent Gravity Media (AGM) to produce its first television series, TransWorld Sessions. The 26-episode half-hour series is scheduled to debut this fall.

TransWorld Sessions will explore action sports’ most popular genres — motocross, skateboarding, snowboarding, BMX and surfing — and showcase top action-sports athletes including James Stewart, Dane Reynolds, Hannah Teter, Brian Deegan, Scotty Lago, Sean Malto, Peter Line, Ryan Dungey, Danny Way, Daewon Song and Andy Irons.

Babytalk’s Ana Connery Teaches Moms How to Phase Out the Pacifier
Ana Connery Ana Connery, editor-in-chief of Babytalk, appeared on WNBC’s Today in New York to offer advice for moms struggling to wean their kids off a pacifier. She suggests moms limit pacifier use to naps and bedtime. To fill the void, they should introduce their children to a new object of affection, such as a stuffed animal. When the time is right, Connery recommends making an event out of the passing of the pacifier by holding a farewell ceremony.
