Florida Travel + Life and Islands Both Nominated for Top Magazine of Florida


Florida Travel + Life and Islands magazines are finalists for the top prize in the 2010 Florida Magazine Association Awards, which honors excellence in magazine publishing for the state. In addition, both titles are up for awards in the prestigious Best Written category. Winners will be announced at awards ceremonies in Orlando Aug. 13.

Florida Travel + Life and Islands are finalists in 14 categories. Islands leads with 10 nominations, and Florida Travel + Life is a close second with nine nominations.

The FMA “Charlie” awards are offered each summer to recognize magazine excellence — from writing to photography to design — around the state. Since its inception in 1954, the Florida Magazine Association has become the largest state magazine association in the nation, made up of more than 200 publishing professionals, all based in the Sunshine State.
