Yachting Steams Past Competition ― Leaving PMY in its Wake
After years of battling with Power & Motoryacht magazine for the top spot in the marine industry, Yachting saw 2009 mark a dramatic turnaround against its top rival.
Bouncing back from a deficit of 49 ad pages compared with its rival in 2008, this year Yachting has crushed Power & Motoryacht by an incredible 406 ad pages ― a swing of 455 ad pages. It also slammed the competition this year in share of market ― an increase of 7 percent.

Bonnier’s Next Generation of Magazines?
Mag+. You may have seen the video of the new digital-magazine prototype that Bonnier is developing in Sweden. It’s part of the companywide Mag+ project to design a next-generation magazine for e-reader devices. What you might not know is that we’re also developing a Mag+ prototype here in the United States.
Editorial teams from Popular Science, Islands, TransWorld, the Mountain Group and Watersports titles recently met at Bonnier’s New York office to present and discuss ideas. PopSci’s digital-magazine concept will lead the way as the teams work toward one U.S. prototype, collaborating with a design firm in San Francisco. Look for more updates as Mag+ progresses in early 2010.
